Hello, my name is Elisabeth von Trapp. Yes, I’m from that family, a granddaughter of the Baron, Georg and Maria von Trapp, whose story inspired “The Sound Of Music “.

I am a Certified Austrian Tour Guide and like nothing better than introducing guests to the exquisite charm, sights and sounds of Salzburg – the city of music, with its narrow streets, medieval walkways, giant fountains, tiny pastry shops, catacombs, Austrian coffee and bread fresh from the oven.

During our time together I’ll share with you the real story of my family: their music, legacy and connection with Salzburg. We’ll visit “The Sound Of Music “ film sites and experience the magnificent baroque architecture and acoustical spaces of Salzburg as we make our way through the city that my family called home.

Over the past many years I have lived, celebrated holidays, studied and performed in Salzburg. In 2022 I obtained my Austrian citizenship making me a proud dual Austrian – American citizen. My husband Edward and I divide our time between Salzburg and our stateside home in Waitsfield,, Vermont.
